On May 24, 2019, Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary held its graduation service. This year, 26 seniors received their diplomas. In addition, Pastor David Putz of Lincoln, Michigan, graduated with his Master of Sacred Theology Degree.

President Paul Wendland based his sermon on the class passage, “The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63). He reminded them to stand firm on God’s strong Word because it gives life and gives hope, and he encouraged them to share that Word throughout their ministries.

At the end of the service, Seminary Governing Board Chairman, Pastor Jonathan Scharf, thanked Wendland for his 15 years of serving as the president of the seminary. He is stepping down from the presidency and will assume the role of a full-time professor. Professor Earle Treptow is assuming the responsibilities of president this summer and will be installed on the first day of classes next school year.
