Hermeneutics for the Busy Pastor
Instructor: Paul Wendland
Description:
*This is a core course in both the Old Testament and New Testament areas of study.
We hear the word "hermeneutics" and faster than you can say "Bultmann" or "Seminex," the eyes glaze over. As a busy pastor, you have better things to do than to take an online refresher course in existentialism. We agree. That's why the emphasis of this course in Bible interpretation will be on helping busy pastors deepen their practical skills for understanding and applying God's Word appropriately to their people. Topics include seeing the “big themes” of the Bible, identifying genre, tracing the arc of the biblical narrative and exploring the rhetorical beauty of various texts, with the emphasis being on practice, not theory.
