Imitating Scriptural Variety in Sermonic Form and Structure
Instructor: Private: Richard Gurgel
Description:
The beautiful variety the Holy Spirit uses to communicate divine truth in Scripture provides us as preachers with something to imitate. In particular, pondering the unique ways the Spirit uses the various genres of scriptural literature can inform the form and structure of our sermons Sunday by Sunday. In this course, we will seek to grow in what it means to ask two questions instead of just one from each text: not only asking “What are you saying to us?” but also pausing long enough to ask “How are you making that point?”
