The fourth annual Legacy Society luncheon was held on Sunday, April 10. This event recognizes those who have made planned gifts to the seminary or remembered the seminary in their will.
Senior Caleb Schmiege shared that, as the son of a pastor, he didn’t grow up wanting to be a pastor. “I didn’t like writing weekly book reports,” he said. “So writing a sermon every week didn’t sound fun.” As he got older, he realized that sermons are much different than book reports because you get to talk about Jesus. He thanked attendees for all the ways their prayers and gifts support students who are excited about all the ways God has prepared for them to talk about Jesus.
