In Ephesians chapter 6, Paul encourages us to “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11). A soldier without equipment cannot survive. Likewise, unequipped believers cannot stand firm against the attacks of our enemies. For this reason God tells us to put on the armor he gives us, and to take up his sword, that is, his Word. In light of this our theme for Mission and Ministry 2016 is “Take Up the Sword.”
The seminary is pleased to invite you to this three-day event. The dates for this year’s Mission and Ministry are February 2-4, 2016. Each day will be dedicated to one aspect of the gospel work carried out by three synodical organizations. Tuesday’s presentations will focus on the Home Missions aspect of WELS mission and ministry, Wednesday is devoted to World Missions, and Thursday will center on the Congregation and Ministry Support Group.
