Description: Reading: Malachi 3:1-5 The Lord Almighty promised to send a messenger before his powerful coming. The Lord reveals to us something about himself as he describes the mission of John to prepare his way. The messenger does not prepare the way just for another messenger, he prepares the way for the God of Malachi, the Lord! The Lord does not desire the destruction of his people, but that they return for him. And some do. The Lord listens to those who fear him. He spares them, and more than spares them. He calls them his righteous treasured possession. Speaker M. (Drew) Dey Collect: Stir up our hearts, O Lord, to prepare the way for your only Son. By his coming give us strength in our conflicts and shed light on our path through the darkness of this world; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
