Scripture Lesson:Luke 19:28-40

Preacher: Prof. Ericson

Description: Monday, November 29  Reading Luke 19:28-40 (See Commentary on the Propers: Year C, p. 16)  Jesus enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. As we begin a new church year, we are reminded of the humility of our Savior who comes to serve and save. The focus of Luke 19 on Palm Sunday is on the historical entrance into Jerusalem at the beginning of Holy Week. The focus for the first Sunday of Advent is qualitative. What kind of King is this? A gentle one. A saving one. One who is pleased to visit his people again at the beginning of a new year of grace.  Pr.: Prof. Ericson  Advisor N/A  Hymns 301 - Savior of the Nations, Come  303 – O Bride of Christ, Rejoice  Musician Prof. Christie  Prayer/Day Stir up your power, O Lord, and come.
