Worship

Worship and Chapel

Because the seminary believes that Christian faith and life are strengthened by and expressed in public worship, opportunities for worship are offered every morning during the school year, on many evenings, and on festivals and special occasions. Most services are held in the seminary chapel.

A part of the original administration and classroom wing, the chapel was extensively renovated in 2004-2005 by means of private gifts. Designed to seat about 200 worshipers, the chapel has flexible seating and chancel areas that enable it to serve a variety of worship experiences. The room also holds a 25-rank Martin Ott pipe organ and a Yamaha grand piano.

Concerts and major festival services take place in the campus auditorium.

The seminary’s Dean of Chapel oversees the campus worship life and is assisted by a committee of seniors and a student sacristan. Students and members of the faculty preside at regular morning and evening services. Students and faculty also serve as organists, instrumentalists, cantors, and members of several chapel choirs. Special services are held on important church festivals.
