Friends of the Seminary Day

Our Friends of the Seminary Day will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015. Sponsored by the WLS Auxiliary, this annual event highlights the way your gifts help WLS support the worldwide mission of WELS.

The seminary building has been standing in the same spot for over 80 years, but the people are constantly in transition. Faculty members retire and new ones come on board. A new group of students come each year, others are out serving for their vicar year.

This year you will hear from two faculty members and one student about their recent transitions.

Ryan Kolander is returning to the seminary after serving for a year as a tutor and Old Testament instructor at Martin Luther College. Professor Thomas Kock joined the seminary faculty in 2014 after being a pastor in Johnson City, Tenn. Our newest faculty member, Professor Bradley Wordell, moved to Mequon this summer after serving in Japan since 1999.

Registration and coffee hour begins at 8 a.m. in the auditorium. Worship with members of the Seminary Chorus begins at 9 a.m. After the presentations, a light lunch, included in the $10 registration fee, will be served. Guided tours of the campus will follow. Northwestern Publishing House will also have a selection of books and gift items available for purchase.

Please send your name, address, telephone number, and home congregation along with your registration fee to the attention of Lori Guse at 11831 N Seminary Drive, Mequon WI 53092, no later than September 28. For more information, contact Lori at 262.242.8104 or
