Give To Grow In Grace

Options for Giving

Seminary Fund

Gifts given to the WLS Seminary Fund support the day-to-day operational costs of the seminary and supplement the offerings of love made through WELS congregations.

The total cost of education is around $35,000 per student per year. However, tuition is only $12,285 and an additional $9,180 for room & board. The rest of the educational costs are covered by Congregational Mission Offerings and gifts from individuals.

Costs of providing this quality education include:

  • Building and grounds maintenance.
  • Technological needs and upgrades.
  • Faculty and staff salaries.
  • Support for valuable ministerial field experiences for students.

Your gifts are vital to Christ’s mission at WLS. Please prayerfully consider joining us as partners in providing excellent and thorough theological training to equip men for service in the church for years to come.

Gifts can be made online to the WLS Seminary Fund or by contacting our mission advancement director, Kevin Keller.

Scholarship Fund

The WLS Scholarship Fund exists to support students as they complete the rigorous course of study necessary for preparation to proclaim the unconditional gospel. Rising education costs present a challenge to these men, many of them with families, as they strive to balance their studies and their financial obligations.

In 2013-2014 academic year:

  • 97% of the student body received some financial aid.
  • 67% of our students carried debt.
  • Across the entire student body, average debt per student was $12,643.
  • We disbursed $205,460 in grants and awards as follows:
    • scholarship grants, awarded on the basis of declared financial need: $157,510
    • campus service awards, acknowledge student faithfulness in carrying out tasks for the well-being of our whole campus family: $19,350
    • academic achievement awards, recognize classroom performance as reflected in GPAs: $28,600.

Financial grants-in-aid and scholarships are awarded every October and February based on declared need, academic achievement, and campus service as evaluated by the Financial Aid Committee and the Governing Board of WLS.

Please join us in providing this important assistance to our future pastors. If you are able, consider a gift to the scholarship fund today and keep these men and their families in your prayers.

Gifts can be made online to the WLS Scholarship Fund or by contacting our mission advancement director, Kevin Keller.
