Course Description Participants in this 3 credit course will explore the hermeneutical genius, the rhetorical majesty, the Christological depth, and the pastoral passion of the author’s message of encouragement to Hebrew Christians. The portions of this letter that we will study isagogically will provide the thematic overview. The pericopes we study exegetically will equip participants for selected sermon texts that occur throughout the Church Year. This letter to the Hebrew Christians also features important insights into pastoral theology. The course’s approach will allow each participant to proceed at his preferred pace and depth. Hebrews is a timely and important message. Join us. Course Objectives Participants in this course will: 1. Grow in faith in the great High Priest, Jesus, who offered himself as the perfect sacrifice to rescue all sinners; 2. Appreciate the homiletical depth, the structural nuance, and Christocentric focus of the author’s presentation; 3. Confidently approach the exegetical challenges relative to the task of preparing sermons on selected texts in this letter, and; 4.
