Helping Christians Obtain Treatment for Mental Illness

Instructor: John Schuetze

Description:
As called workers in a Lutheran congregation, we bring people to Christ and help them grow in their relationship with Christ. But sometimes mental illness interferes with that process. In this course we will look at five key areas that play a part in helping Christians get the mental health treatment they need. These include the history of mental health care, the service systems, diagnosis and treatment process, causes and treatments for mental illness, and providing practical assistance to those in need. All of this will help us help those in need. This, in turn, will help us minister to them on a spiritual level as well.
