America’s Homegrown Religions

Instructor: John Brenner

Description:
America has been a fertile ground for the development of a variety of denominations, religious movements, and cults. This course surveys America’s homegrown religions focusing on the historical background, development and main teachings or emphases of each. The course also explores the causes that gave rise to these various movements as well as identifying commonalities and differences among them.

Course registration will be available in the Student Information System (SIS) beginning August 7, 2025, and close October 2, 2025. Use the "Login with Office 365 button" once you've received a student account and are logged in to Microsoft 365 with that student account. Need an account? Request one here.

Registration for courses is now done through our Student Information System (SIS). The default is to audit the course. If you want to take the course for credit, once you reach the "cart," you should see an option to add a fee for $100 (the additional cost to take the course credit).

Step-by-step instructions are provided here for all parts of the account setup and registration process.
