Bill Tackmier

Biography:
Professor Tackmier has taught Old Testament and homiletics at the seminary since 2010. Before coming to the seminary, he served as a parish pastor for twenty years in Michigan and California. Most of his parish years were spent at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Citrus Heights, CA, where he focused on worship and outreach. In addition to a BA from Northwestern College and an MDiv from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, he has a PhD in Biblical Studies from Concordia Seminary. His dissertation was on what the Psalms have to say about life after death. His special area of interest is biblical exegesis. He has published numerous articles on Bible interpretation in Wisconsin Lutheran Quarterly. His wife Dorcas works in the seminary library. They have two children and three grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys reading, spending time in God’s creation, and working out.
